What do I need to shop online?

Not much at all. We’ve kept things really simple:

  1. You need to be 18 years or older and have a valid email address.

What are the requirements for a password ?

Alberton Hardware attempts to make your online shopping experience as secure as possible. Passwords must contain characters from all three of the following categories:

  1. English upper case characters (A – Z);
  2. English lower case characters (a – z); and
  3. Base 10 digits (0 – 9).

How do I reset my password ?

There is a “Forgot Your Password” link on the login page. You will be prompted to enter an email address to send a password reset email which will allow you to reset your password. Please make sure that you enter the email address you registered with.

Is the Alberton Hardware Online website compatible with smart devices ?

We’ve put in a lot of effort to ensure that our website is designed to be used across current mainstream mobile devices, such as tablets (e.g. Apple iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab) or mobile phones (e.g. Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Huawei or Blackberry Q10). If our website doesn’t look right on the device that you’re using, give us a call and we’ll see what we can do to sort it out.

Is online shopping safe ?

We take security very seriously, especially online. Rest assured that we’ve taken every precaution, using the latest security technology to ensure your personal details are safe and secure with us. All sensitive information you provide is encrypted using industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer technology, and we partner with a leading South African payment processor. We also insist that all credit card payments use 3D Secure processes (such as MasterCard’s SecureCode and Verified by Visa) so you will be prompted for a one-time PIN when purchasing to prevent you from fraudulent transactions. In short, this means that we’ve done everything we can to ensure that your details are always safe and secure.

What Shipping Methods Are Available?

  • Collect in store T&C’s apply.
  • Local Courier service (JHB, PTA, DBN & CPT).
  • National courier service to all provinces.
  • Free Shipping for orders over R800 within Gauteng T&C’s apply.

How Long Will it Take To Get My Package ?

  • Once payment reflects the following times will apply:
  • Collect in store – Immediately (Stock availability dependent)
  • Local courier: Ship next day availability dependent. (24-48 Hours)
  • National courier: Ship next day availability dependent. ( 2 to 7 Days)
  • Free shipping: Above times will apply.

How Do I Place an Order ?

  1. Once you have chosen a product, click “Add to basket“
  2. In the right top corner select “Your cart”, then “View basket” or click on “Check out”
  3. Confirm shipping method under “Basket totals”
  4. Click on “Proceed to checkout” or should you wish to add something on your order then click on “Back to Shopping” to add more stock to your order.
  5. Once you are done shopping click on “Proceed to Checkout”
  6. Fill in your details under the “Billing details”
  7. You will be able to create an account here but it is not necessary. It will however save your contact details for future use to expedite your future use of this website.
  8. You can change your shipping method by selecting one of the options available.
  9. Choose your payment method by clicking on one of the options available.
  10. Click that you agree with the T’s & C’s
  11. Complete your order by clicking on “Place order”
  12. Confirmation will be sent via e-mail to inform you of your purchase made on this website.
